Just one touch,

is so precious,

it lasts a lifetime.

There was a Mermaid who fell in love with a sailor.

She followed his tall ship until one day they met and touched.

Neptune found out about her transgression and sent her back to the sea forever more.

Her tears filled the ocean.

When you find some sea glass at the shore.

That is the Mermaid’s Tears.

The Mermaid gathered up some of her tears.

And placed them in a bottle.

With her magic, she set the bottle off to find the sailor she loved.

Released from the Mermaid’s grasp, the bottle filled with her tears began the journey.

Traversing the moments of light and dark.

The storms, the shores in silent passage.

Until it wends its way to her sailor’s tall ship.

When he empties the contents of the vessel into his hands.     

And as he looked at her tears in his hands.

They changed into clouds and rose to the sky.

Then all the creatures of the sea, dressed in their finest whites.

Stood witness as he felt the rain falling down.

"Even as distance separates us, we are one."

"Even as time passes us, we are one."

"Even in parting, we are together."

As the clouds parted.

Father Neptune relented.
