Down the Road
The two hobos catch up with Ari once again.
The slide on stools to either side of the Prophet of the Day and Night.
A “Well fellas, let me tell you about this guy named Johnny”
C “FrictionMan, order up”
A “Back in colonial times, he inadvertently found himself in the midst of effort to save our young country”
C “Bottle of beer, please”
A “Johnny had to quickly deliver a union saving message to General Washington”
California looks down at The Collector and they both begin to smile
A “He mounted his horse; placing the precious cargo in the saddlebags”
A “When he found the General, he built a fire and cooked up the cargo”
C “And what did General Washington do, Ari?”
A “He named them after the hero of such courage to deliver them in harm’s way to save the union”
A “From that day to this, they have always been known as JohnnyCakes”
TC “Thar ya be, boys; enjoy”
The hobos dined and were on their way back down the road.
But not without the famous recipe for those historic JohnnyCakes tucked away in their saddlebags.
